Back in the 90s, UFO sightings were everywhere. Some random person in the middle of nowhere always seemed to have a camera at just the right moment. Then smartphones happened, everyone got an HD camera in their pocket, and somehow the aliens stopped showing up. The hoax needed the alibi of inaccessible technology to survive. Once cameras became universal, the whole thing quietly fell apart.
What's interesting is how much technology shapes belief. Alien Photobomb leans into that irony: maybe the fix for a phenomenon that vanished is just another tool.
